Missed Periods, Scan Shows Bulky Uterus, Gestational Sac In Endometrium, No Foetal Pole, No Fluid Collection In Douglas Pouch. Indications?
i saw my menses last on 20th sept 2012, i went for scan today and the result reads as follows -the uterus is bulky, gravid and anteverted in position. the endometrium harbors a well defined gestational sac but no fetal pole seen yet. the myometrium is smooth homogeneous in echo texture. both overies are normal the adnexia is bilaterally free, no fluid collection in the pouch of douglas
Hi,
If you were having 28-35 day cycles previously, you should be around 6-7 weeks pregnant now. Fetal pole usually appears at this stage and fetal heart may be made out by a trans-vaginal sonogram. Yet, sometimes the presence of fetal pole may not be visualized early, so, you should go for a repeat sonogram after 1-2 weeks. All other findings are normal. Please get further advice from your doctor. Take care.
