Mitral Valve Prolapse.

I am 27 year old woman and recently i have been diagonised with mitral valve problem and the report say "early prolapse of post mitral valve".Is it life threatening, does it require any surgery, what is the treatment

Hi.. The treatment of mitral valve prolapse includes both medical treatment and surgical repair.. You will be on a few drugs that will help in preventing the symptoms and the complication's... If you are on regular medication's you may not have any problems.  The need for the surgical treatment depends on the severity of the condition...
