Hello I have a tooth problem...a couple months back my second top molar partially fell out...now there is nothing but a shard coming out of gum...the pain comes and goes but it is severe pain as I don't have dental insurance I'm wondering what it is the hole where my molar was is very deep and seems to be not healing...I use aspirin and salt water for pain...sometimes gargle with peroxide or listerine...hoping if its an infection it won't spread...any advice?

hi.. thanks for using HCM..
your second molar is gone.. now you having bleeding and pain in that area..
aspirin is analgesic, which also interferes with clotting, probably that is leading to continues bleeding..
see your dentitist for examination, to see any remnant of tooth in the area..
change to some other analgesic like aceclofenac, take some broad spectrum antibiotics like penicillin groups of drugs..
continue to use the gargling with the antiseptic lotions..
all the very best..

hi...
thanks for the query...
it seems to be infection... you please visit your dentist once and get X-ray done to make sure that the tooth has been lost completely...
take diclofenac instead of aspirin as aspirin hinders normal healing process and take amoxycillin 500mg three times a day for 5 days.... so take proper course of antibiotics...
take care...

Hi,
Welcome to HCM forum,
As your tooth has partially broken, so you need a clinical and radiographical examination to judge whether the left portion can be saved or not.
If some of tooth structure is there then root canal alongwith post and core will save the tooth.
If just root stumps are there then extraction will be advised.
Till then you can take Amox 500mg, Metrogly 400mg and ibuprofen.
Wishing you cure soon
Take care

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

The cause for falling of upper molar could be deep dental decay which has spread laterally. Thus the tooth structure has been lost.

Here, i would like to suggest you to visit your dentist and get an x ray done.further you can get the tooth extracted which doesn't cost more as it would be a simple extraction.

Later on, whenever your financial conditions favors, you can go for a bridge for the lost tooth.

Remember any infected tooth or root piece might infect other teeth too.so it is best to get treated.

Hope it helps.

Thanks.

Take care.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptoms i suspect that, crown portion of the tooth has fallen down, you need an x-ray to confirm this if some tooth portion is left root canal can be preformed and post can be placed & if root piece is left it can be extracted and replaced with removable or fixed prosthesis.
I would suggest you to visit the Dentsit and get the checkup done.
Take a course of antibiotics and analgesics under prescription of your Dentist.
Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses.

Hope this helps out.

Regards..

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

The extraction socket has not healed completely.

Take amoxicillin tablets complete course to enhance wound healing.

The socket has to be curetted and debridement with povidine iodine as well as ZOE has to be done.

Suturing the socket may enhance wound healing.

Please do visit a dentist for further reference.

Hope this helps.
