Every person over the age of 50 should have colonoscopy every 10 years done even if there is no symptoms. As you have symptoms which is constipation, this test should be the next step. Obesity and your age are known risk factors of colon cancer. That is why it is very important to rule the cancer out. If nothing will be found, you should also have stool tests done for chronic infection. You should also increase fiber rich products, mineral water intake and physical activity. Avoid fatty foods and soft drinks.
