Muscle Cramping In Legs, Jumpy Feet, Sleeplessness. History Of NA Fatty Liver Cirrousis Stage 4, Pre Diabetic. Advice

I have muscle cramping in my legs in the evening and jumpy feet. This stops me from sleeping, My doctor doesn't want me to take my sleeping pills and is trying to get me off of them. The last stage is 15mg and I haven't slept other than a couple of hours / night. I have been to a sleep lab and they were the ones that had been controlling this but my doctor won't repeat the same prescriptions. I've got NA Fatty Liver Cirrousis Stage 4. What else can I do. I'd like to go back to my Sleep Lab again. What would you suggest. I have been diagnosed pre Diabetic and I'm controlling it with my diet so far.
Sorry but I don't have any money to pay for this advice as I've already cleaned out my Retirement Savings Account and my doctor will not apply to the government for gov't disability. Sorry for bothering you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi,

Your description suggests that you are getting cramps in the calf muscles.Cramps are painful spasms in a muscle and are often caused by overuse, dehydration, or nutritional deficiencies.
Following measure will help-
*Drink fluid-An electrolyte imbalance can be the cause of muscle spasms, so rehydrating with an electrolyte drink can help restore balance.
*Stretch the affected muscle with a mild, static stretch.
*Use ice to numb the pain in a cramp, reducing inflammation and allowing the muscle to relax.
*Bring the affected muscle into a relaxed position.

Hope this will helps you. Take care.
