Hello,

To make all of this easier for you to understand, the nerves that exit your neck, travel all the way to the end of your fingertips. When you have problems in your spine, like the ones you are describing (disc bulges, degeneration, etc.) this can compress upon these nerves or nerve roots which doesn't allow for the nerves to send the correct signals out along the pathway to the hand any longer. Most importantly to note here is that it's been like this for so long that it is now creating atrophy (wasting) of the muscles in your hand.

Conservative treatment options include chiropractic and physical therapy. Neurosurgical consultation might also be considered.

Good luck.
