My 5 Year Old Son Has Adenoid And Wheezing As Well

Hi Doctor , I have two queries for you: I have a son of 5 year old who has adenoid and wheezing as well... What are the ways in treating this Adenoid and would a surgery be reccomended? How can he overcome his wheezing problems? Will be of great help if you can advise me on the above cocnerns. Regards Hemelda

Hi Hemelda,

Adenoids and wheezing can co-exist, enlarged adenoids can cause nasal obstruction worsening the wheezing. First of all, you need to get the x-ray of the adenoids done to look for the amount of obstruction. Depending upon the obstruction it can be further managed. There is no cure for wheezing, only preventive measures can get rid of wheezing.
