My 9yo Daughter Was Eating When She Swallowed Too Big

My 9yo daughter was eating when she swallowed too big a bite of food and felt like she was choking but didn't actually choke. The next day she had the same thing happen. I believe it is because she is eating too fast and not chewing enough. She has complained that her throat hurts and points to esophagus and said when she swallows it hurts there. Could she have over stretched or bruised her esophagus? She is barely eating and only liquids and soft foods like mash potatoes because she is so scared of it happening again. She has no fever, not acting sick at all, her throat isn't red, no runny nose...nothing.
