My Chest Is Full Of Phlegm .I Cannot Lay Down

I have been home all week very weak and coughing congestion
pains in the head and no fever sometimes 99 but usually 97 96
breathing can hear phlem in chest nose stuffed I have started last
night to take ethromycin self medicating doctor out of town.
Can't lay down because chest fulls up with phlem.
Very scared.

Erythromycin is an antibiotic and should be taken on prescription only and also should be taken for a full course. Stopping it abruptly is a harm to yourself as well as the society.

Please dont self medicate, it can be dangerous.
Erythromycin is an antibiotic and when started has to be continued for atleast five days and dose has to be taken as per doctors advice.But if you have breathing difficulty and cough it's best to get an xray and visit a doctor because it could be viral bronchitis , or even pneumonia and delay in treatment could worsen the problem.What you can do yourself for relief is taking steam inhalation and saline gargles and decongestant nasal sprays three to four times a day, drink plenty of fluids and have a nutritious diet.
