My Son Is Having Watering Of Left Eye And Complaints Of Sharp Sunlight Outside

Hi Doc, my son is 4 years old. Weight 14 Kgs and healthy growth parameters. Since last one month, he is having watering of left eye and complaints of sharp sunlight outside. While viewing TV or smartphone (video clips etc) his left eye waters and he looks away. Though just to mention, he does not always complaints of sharp sunlight as he plays alot in park in daytime with me or watering etc due to bright light exposure of TV, smartphone. I am worried. One of general physician gave an eyedrop saying it might be an eye infection , other one said it might be due to congestion of nasal tract and gave an eye drop..though i havent used it yet. Kindly help

Hi... by what you quote it could be a blocked nasolacrimal duct which brings tears into the nose and thereby keeping the eye moist and clean. I do not think that it is an infection. I suggest you consult an opthalmalogist for this. But be assured that it is not something very serious. Please do not worry.
