My Son Is Suffering From Hand, Foot And Mouth Disease

doctors prescribed that my son has hand foot and mouth disease he has had ruther high fever (38-40.5 c) for the past three days (very high at nights about 38.5 c during most of the day) and just yesterday afternoon these little red spots appered all over his body specially on his chest and back. Took him to hospital thay said it is the HFMD but just reading on the internet he dosnt seem to be having any spots in his mouth or foot or hand and dose not refuse to drink or eat yet. he is very cranky and needy though and does not have his usual appetite. i read in internet that the fever for this illness is mild my sons is very high and dose not go down quikly after baby panadol1 r we deling with the same illness?? pls help!

thanks for choosing health care magic.See it is not mandatory that all signs and symptoms of any particular illness are present in every case.Usually in any illness that last for couple of days refusal to eat and crankiness is common on pediatric age.Try to give him plenty of fluids,light diet like fruits,juice,soups etc.Try to give him something which he likes the most,avoid giving hot and fried foods.Usually HFMD is present in many patients in society when it spreads,so you get to see more number of kids affected in your vicinity.
