Neck Pain, Recurring For Months. Treatment?

I have neck pain in the upper right corner, right at the base of my skull, that radiates down to my sholder. It has been everyday for three months. The more I do, the more it hurts, but even when I do nothing, the pain does not subside completey. I don't know if I should see a regular doctor or a chiropractor. To make matters more complicated, I recently relocated, in fact, I think this is largely due to heavy boxes., so I do not have a doctor or chiro around here.

Hi,
Due to heavy weight lifting on your neck there might be having early osteoartheritis changes in your cervical vertebrae giving rise to this problem.
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Go for X ray cervical region to know osteoartheritis changes.
Go for physiotherapy.
Avoid lifting heavy weight on the neck.
Ok and take care.
