Hi, i have recieved dose 1 and 2 of my twinrix vaccination (1 month apart), but have missed the 3 rd dose - it should have been in august. do i have to start all over, or can i still be given the 3rd shot and be protected? I m going away in 10 days to a country that i will need protection in. Thanks.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The schedule for twinrixvaccine is three doses at 0 (first dose),1 (at first month), and 6 (at six months). The booster dose is given five years after the first dose. If the second or third dose is missed, the entire vaccination regime has to be repeated. So, you will need to repeat the entire course- 0,1 and 6.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
