hi, i'm Mae, 25 yrs old, 5'1 height,47 kg. i had a problem in my menstrual cycle, i had a continuous bleeding started from May 12, 2011 until now, but it was just a drops of blood it is not a heavy flow, i undergo an ultrasound and here is the impression of the doctor: "Consider bicornuate uterus or incomplete uterine septation". i want to know if there is bad side effects in the result.
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of ultrasound pelvis is as follows:
The uterus is bicornuate or incomplete septation suggests that either your uterus has two separate chambers or it divided into two chambers by incomplete septa.
Bicornuate uterus can lead to mentsrual disorders as you are experiencng now.
There can be problem during pregnancy.
Conceiving can take place, however, there will be restriction to growth of the gestational sac after certain level due to small size of the uterus.
Thus, itis suggestsed that surgical excsion of septa is done.
Thanks and take care
