Need Medication For Constipation And Blood In Stools

My daughter is five months now and I recently changed her formula to gentlease enfamil and start feeding her bowls of rice cereal. Today she was constipated and when I changed her there was blood in her stool. What can I do to treat this? Would I have to take her to the emergency room and will this continue?

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
You need not rush to ER with one day constipation.
There may be slight bleeding when hard stool is passed from the tender gut.
Addition of fluids to the diet like fruit juice as well as greenleafy vegeteble soup will help relieve constipation.
You may give lactulose syrup with the knowledge of your doctor will help.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
