Need Medication For High Fever Of About 105.3 For A 7 Year Old

My 7 year old daughter has had a fever off and on since early Thursday morning. It has been as high as 105.3 at times. The only thing she complains about is that her eyes are hot, she s cold, and she is tired. Should I take her into urgent care or just continue to keep an eye on her at home?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. I am sorry your daughter is not feeling well. A patient of any age with a fever that persists for 6 days, should be seen by a doctor. Though the most common pediatric diagnosis is a viral illness, and therefore will resolve on it's own, the duration of the fever could be a hint that something more serious is going on. I don't believe it's necessary to go to an urgent care center. However, I would consult with your pediatrician today.
