Blood pressure control is very important. According to medical studies, beginning at 115/75, the risk of heart disease and stroke doubles for every 20/10 increase in blood pressure above the value mentioned.
Co eaziday is a combination of two medications- losartan and a thiazide.
If both your systolic blood pressure (the number at the top) and diastolic blood pressure (the number at the bottom) are controlled on the co eaziday , then your doctor may decide that the other medication is not necessary. A controlled systolic blood pressure is less 140 and a diastolic less than 90, though if it is lower than this , it would decrease your risk of any complications.
If there is any evidence of kidney disease or diabetes then it needs to be lower.
You can consider doing home readings at different points during the day for 5 to 7 days and showing them to your doctor. The two of you can review them and if they are all withing range, then the other medication may not be indicated.
