Need Medication For Passing Of Semi Solid Stool
Hello Doctor,
My one-and-half-year-old baby has been having semi-solid stools for last 6 to 7 days, sometimes it is a bit greenish and sometimes a little white mucous found in the stool and sometimes a bit liquid type with bubbles present. We got the routine stool test done, it shows mucus: present (++), color:yellowish, odour: offensive, reaction: acidic. OVA: not found. Cyst: Entamoeba Histolytica(+), Larva: not found. pus cell: 1-2/hpf. Veg cells: Present(++). We found a tinge of blood also. Is there anything serious going on. Please advise.

The stool examination report is more or less normal.
EH cysts though present need not be treated.
If vegetative forms are present ,it requires treatment with metronidazole.
Sporolac sachets and Zn-20 may help reducing the number of stools.
