Need To Know The Dosage For Fever, Cold And Vomiting Medicines For My Ten Year Old Son
Greetings doctor, My son will be 10 years on 25/03/2014. I am travelling next week, so want to carry medicines for Fever, Cold, Cough, Vomiting, etc. Kindly suggest medicines and doses for above. When he was small I used give him Crocin syrup & Meftal P on fever. For Cold I used to give him Relent for Cough - Asthalin and for Vomiting - Domstal. Kindly advise doses as per his age now. Thanks & Regards,
Hello, Medicines for children can be prescribed based on their weight and not the age. Since your son's weight has not been mentioned, I suggest that you forward his weight also.Assuming that he weighs an average of 30 kg, his requirement per dose of paracetamol is 450mg, ondansetron is 5mg tablet and cetrizine 5 mg . If his weight is less than 30 kg, the above doses may be high for him. Hence, please consult your physician if necessary.
