Newborn Baby With Oily Stool. Is It Normal? Is Formula Causing This?
My daughter is 4 weeks old. She's breastfed and suplemented with S26 Gold Hypoallergenic. The color, smell and quantity of her stool is normal but there is one thing I'm worried about, her poop is some what like oily. Whenever I clean her with water and soap it sticks to her skin and even to my hands, it's hard to remove just by using water, thats why everytime I clean her I have to use wipes first before cleaning her with water and soap. Is this normal? Wondering which one is the problem, is it my breast milk or the formula milk I used, if it's the formula then what would be the best formula to use? What would be the cause of the oily poop?
Hi thanks for your query at HCM put salinase nasal drops in nostrils
Breast feeding is the best food for a baby continue only breast milk till 6 months and add semisolids later and continue breast feeding till 2 years of age. Oily stools needs to be worked up . Do sweat chloride test at first instance
change his diaper after every loose stool how much urine he is passing continuous follow up to your gastroentrologist is necessary for 2nd line of investigations i will be available for your help wishing you a speedy recovery take care regards Dr. Imran Hussain
