Newborn's Head Swollen On Temple, Vein Visible, Taking Feed Normally. Reason For Swelling?
hi. i have a two week old little girl. it looks like the left side of head is swollen on the temple. it kinda almost looks like she bumped her head. but she didnt.. i gave her a bottle at for am this morning and she was fine i put down to sleep and she got back up at sevenish to take another bottle and it looked like her temple was swollen. you can see the vein in it too. she acts completely fine she took her bottle used the bathroom she made good eye contact we played a little bit now she going back to sleep...what could this be? do i need to take her to the doctor or the er? also she alot yesterday i gave her a bath around five or six in the afternoon she then went to sleep and stayed asleep pretty much through the whole night except for her feedings but normally shes awake more at night and likes to stay up after her feedings but she went straight after each one.. but there was no swelling until this last feeding

The swelling could be due to a cephalhematoma which may be present since birth.
It will take some time to completely subside.
As your kid is active, healthy and feeding is normal nothing to worry.
In next follow up you can discuss with your Pediatrician about this. But ant associated problem with this swelling you can consult your Pediatrician.
That sleep and feeding pattern is normal for newborns.

Swelling which you are mentioning is collection of blood (cephalhematoma)results as a result of birth trauma but is benign as resolves of its own in few weeks.
such sleep pattern is normal in newborns and it take time to establish a pattern.
There is nothing to worry as your baby is active and feeding well.
Do mention it to your pediatrician during your next visit.
