No Bowel Movement Since Two Days Before The D&C Was Done. Prescribed Norco Which Caused Constipation. No Appetite. Prescribe A Laxative Which Is Best In My Condition.
i just had a d&c on thursday and i havent had a bowel movement since two days before my surgery. i was prescribed norco for the pain which is known to cause constipation. i am now having no appetite and abdominal pressure ( the pressure is different than my surgery pain) my papers they sent home said if i have problems with constipation i can take a laxative. i can not sit or lay comfortably any longer and i cant sleep cause of the pressure of the constipation and i dont know which laxative would be best in my situation. i have tried fiber bran and fruits and have had no luck i just need a fast acting laxative so i can get some sleep and eat again. i have never had any history of constipation before.

From history it seems that you might be having absolute constipation.
Laxative may take some time to work.
To get immediate relief of constipation, go for enema.
Continue with laxative and more fiber containing diet.
Take plenty of water.
