No Rememberence Of Past Few Days. History Of Bad Relationship. Suggest
Hi, Samuel my friend is 53 years old, female mother to 7 children aged 32 down to 13 years old, no health problems physically non smoker not a heavy drinker ,haveing a hard time with an x husband, now she was out to lunch today and cant remember the last few days as of now her friend rang me and is on the way to me with her im going to take her into the hospital which is beside my house, when she arrives,
She is 53 years old and is otherwise healthy and she had a traumatic past. She suddenly failed to remember last few days. As there is no history of trauma, unconsciousness, hypertension so most likely the problem of memory loss is due to some Conversion Disorder. Conversion Disorder occurs due to some unresolved conflict in mind and a lot of complaints are seen. Other possibility is some Dementia but sudden onset memory loss is not seen in dementia. In dementias gradual progressive memory loss is seen.
I would advise you to please visit a good Psychiatrist for expert opinion.
It sounds llike your friend had a cva or another neurological condition that contributed to the sudden loss of her memory. I advise you to have her consult a neurologist and a psychiatrist in that order to have her evaluated. I am sure there is a reason for what is going on and it will need to be investigated. I hope this helped. Also going easy on the alcohol is definitely going to help.
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
The condition you are describing is called retrograde amnesia. There could be various causes
1) Dementia
2) Amnesia
3) Psychological amnesia
4)Head injury
Its only after a detailed psychiatric assessment that the exact cause can be found out. You need to show him to either a neurologist or a psychiatrist.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
A sudden loss of memory can be due to different causes. Firstly, a neurological cause has to be ruled out. For this she will need a complete neurological assessment and further investigations like a brain scan. Sometimes, there can be psychological causes, such as extreme stress (what we refer to as 'dissociative amnesia).
So, I would advise you to take her to a doctor for a detailed evaluation so that the correct diagnosis can be established. Further treatment will depend on the likely cause.
Wish you all the best.

Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar
