Hi there. I have blood in my stool a couple of months ago.. I have been put on medication called SULFASALAZINE 500mg three times a day by my gastrointerologist. I had it for one month before and in about 3 weeks it checked up, but it has returned again and i have been on this medication now for over a month and it has not checked up. He said i had a slight case of colitis. I am suppose to go back to him in 2/3 months, but anything can occur by them. What should i do??

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us,

As your symptoms are not reducing you may need to investigate further for cause of bleeding.
I will advise for colonoscopy and if possible biopsy , stool examination will also help.
Till time take fully cooked vegetarian diet.

I hope that I have answered your query. Let me know if I can help you further. Take care
