Hi I have had a rash on my hands for a few months now. It started on one finger but now it is on almost all of them. It is red, inflamed, itchy, burning, stinging, has clear discharge, and it always dries up and bleeds. No matter what touches it ,it always burns even if it is just water. Every time I try to straiten out my fingers it always causes a lot of pain. Also, the fingers that first started out with this are now twice the size of my other fingers. Can you please tell me what this is?
It may be irritant contact dermatitis. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. There may be some cause in the form of irritant like soap, detergent, deodorant, body spray, pollutant or some other chemical.
You should try to find out the culprit. I would recommend you to take a short course of steroid in tapering dose. Apply mild steroid with antibiotic cream. If needed antibiotic may be taken for a week.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
