Noticed White Strands In Stool After Taking Energy Bars, On Medication For Cholesterol. Further?
I am a 63 year old white female, I take an MVI, calcium with Vitamin D, fish oil, and a few prescription meds for HTN and cholesterol. I have eaten a high energy bar a few times this past week, have noticed short, white strands in my formed stool twice this past week.....they actually look like little strands of plastic. Should I be concerned?

Hi,
To determine what they are, if I was your caring doctor would ask to send your feces to the lab to further investigate for:
- ova/parasites
- malapsorption
- fecal occult blood
However, I advise to stop taking the energy bar and wait for a couple of weeks before sending your feces to the lab and consult physician.
