Numbness On Left Knee, Occasional Burning Sensation. Doing Exercise Daily. Any Ideas?
I am a 62 year old female. Good health, still working 8-5 each day. Active but not athletic or exercising each day. I walk about 1/2 mile each day. I have about a 5 inch stretch of numbness on the outside of my left knee, no swelling. I can bend the knee just fine, but, for instance, when I climb on my bed, I cannot roll to the left and put any weight on the knee. Fairly often, I have burning sensation in the numb area. I do not recall any injury ever to the knee.
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Numbness and burning sensation in the early mornings indicates osteoarthritis. Typically it presents with stiffness of joints which reduces as the day progresses. This is more common after the age of 60 years. I suggest you get an orthopedic opinion for further assessment and therapy. Include calcium rich foods in your diet like milk and milk products. Application of analgesic gel on the knee will help reduce the stiffness. Thanks.
