have your wisdom tooth erupted?check whether the area is inflammed,ie,pericoronitis.visit a dentist and get an x-ray of that area.according to that we can decide the treatment.if the impacted tooth is in a position of normal tooth eruption,operculectomy should be done.ie,removing inflammed flap over the tooth.this will help in easier eruption.
if normal eruption is not possible due to horizontal impaction or inadequate space for tooth eruption,surgical extraction has to be done.
take the complete course of antibiotics and analgesics prescribed by your dentist.
please do not take medicines without medical supervision.
jaw pain,throat infection,fever,malaise,difficulty in opening mouth,metallic taste in mouth,trismus,difficulty in swallowing are the associated symptoms.

it seem you are affected with trigeminsl neuralgia.
its a disorder in whixh fascial nerves are affected.
i dont think you have any dental problem but still
i would advice you to to get it clinically diagnose
by a dentist since you cant open your mouth.
in trigeminal neuralgia patient experience intence pain in
face.painkillers like iboprufen do provide temperary
relief.i would advice you to consult a neurologist.
avoid touching that area of face.avoid exposure to wind and dusr.
a simple stimulus can cause pain.

thanks for your query
to be frank the symptoms you have given are very vague .facial pain can due to varied causes but yes il definitely try helping you out.firstly try remembering
1.did you have any dental procedure done few days before the pain started ?
2.do you have any family tensions or problems (more so relevant if you are female)
3.are you having history of headache or pain just in front of your ear (both sides? or only single side)
4.is your age around 20 -30?
after all these if its yes for
if1.then it is due to nerve injury or muscle injury during L.a. injection or due to prolonged mouth opening.
if 2. then it can be musculo skeletal disorder due to stress.
if 3 then TMJ disorder you need to then have its investigations.or can be due to sinusitis (cold) or migrane.
if 4.then mostly due to wisdom tooth eruption.u need to get an O.P.G. done in this.

chances of tumor or nerve palsy can too be there but these are too grave that you would have got diagnosed earlier itself ..
and yes chances of it being trigeminal neuralgia are less as you have mentioned first pain was on right then left and trigeminal neuralgias are always unilateral that is just one side.

I went through your history but need some more information like:-
-whether your pain is unilateral or bilateral??
-does it occur even on touching ??
-could you locate associated tooth??
-have you got you lower molars erupted??

You need to go for complete dental check up.
If your molars are not erupted then pain can be due to their eruption & treatment will follow based on its position like if its covered by flap you need removal of flap for complete eruption.
If its impacted you need to get it extracted surgically.

Your pain may be neuralgic, if its unilateral & if it starts spontaneously, you can't even localize its site then it may be neuralgic.
You should go for complete investigation & don't start any medication without proper diagnosis.
