On And Off Bleeding. Ultrasound Shows Thick Uterus. What Does It Mean?
Hi I am 29 years old have been bleeding on and off more on then off since Feb of this year couple times it has been heavy but for the most part it has been light now it is very light and a very light red color and just had an ultrasound and they said my uterus is thick and asked if I can be pregnant I have been trying to become pregnant would love to be but they didnt see anything however it was an abdonminal ultrasound and she says that wouldnt show until I am at least 6 weeks pregnant could I just be becoming pregnant? or what else could a thick uterus mean?
What they have told you on abdominal ultrasound is that the uterus endometrium is thick and this is called as decidual reaction. This happens when the uterus us getting prepared for the implantation to occur or the implantation has occurred and the fetus is very small to be seen on ultrasound scan.
I suggest you do a home pregnancy test if it is 15 days after probable sexual intercourse. A home pregnancy test will confirm a pregnancy. A ultrasound scan confirms pregnancy only after 6 to 7 weeks.
Some times home pregnancy test can come negative if done very early in pregnancy. The very light periods might b e due to implantation bleeding. Please wait for a week more for your periods and then do a home pregnancy test.
