On And Off Mucus In Bowels, Constipation, Loose Stools After Using Suppository. Tested Negative For C-dif. Suggest

I have had mucus come out of my bowel movements. I took a stool sample in for a check and it came out negative for c-dif which I had a couple of years ago. I am still concerned. It seems to come and go. I have been constipated
Then took a suppository early today. but the suppository seems to have caused the runs.

Hi,

As from the information provided it seem that you are having constipation for which you took suppository and now having lot of mucous and loose stools and worried about "C-DIFF" for which test results came negative and need to know if every thing was alright with you?

1) Here is the answer "MUCOUS" is basically a lubricant used by intestine to propel waste product fast and with ease with out having inner bowel injury/ much friction.

2) Now about loose stool it just because of the suppository which you used for the constipation treatment. Nothing to worry.

3) Now about the "c-diff" which normally is causative agent for diarrhea, in case of antibiotic are given for long time, and its know as "psudo-membrane colitis" Please rest assure you do not have it as the test result came negative.

ADVICE: -
1) please stop worrying about it.
2) take some salt replacing fluids, like gatorade / lemonade.
