On And Off Temperature For 1 Year Old With Swelling In Eyes After Using Nepthol
My daughter's age is 1yr 1month old..she is running temperature on and off since 4 days ..my pediatrician suggested nepthol p syrup....after 1day of using that syrup my daughter's eyes are lightly like swelling....is this side effects of that syrup?????...please suggest me....thanks in advance....
Hello, I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
I think you are mentioning about Meftal-P syrup. It is a usual drug given for fever and it contains Mefenamic Acid.
Swelling around the eyes are not usual side effect of Mefanamic acid. But your child may be allergic to Mefanamic acid and this may cause the swelling.
My advice is to better check with your treating physician. Depending on his findings in examination, he may prescribe Antibiotics, Anti allergics like cetrizine etc.
Hope this helps. Please write back for further queries. Wishing you good health.

As she have the fever with mild swelling in eyes, it may be due to any eye infection, nasal infection or it may be a initial stage of periorbital cellulitis. My advice is to better check with your treating physician. Depending on his findings in examination, he may prescribe Antibiotics, Anti allergics like cetrizine etc. Hope this helps.
