On Copper IUD. Stabbing Pain By Both Partners During Having Sex Along With Bleeding, Fatigue, Dizziness. Need Removal Of IUD?
Hi, iv had the copper IUD for 3 months now, my boyfriend is experiencing stabbing pains during intercourse, i went for review a month ago and say this can be normal due to the strings needing time to soften. I am concerned as i am now also experiencing pains during intercourse, i can cope with the bleeding, tiredness,dizziness ect but not this is there anything i can do other than removal?

Hi, it appears that you have infection, that is why there is pain during intercourse. I advise you to consult a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe fluconazole 1 stat, cifixime200 B.D., Matronodazole 400 B.D. for 7 days.
