On Metformin For A Week And Started Having Shortness Of Breath, Suffocation, Blurred Vision, Numbeness In The Fingers

I've been on metformin for one week, 500 mg twice daily, before that no medication what so ever, only took this drug mind you one week side affects that has affect me has been shortness of breath, tightness in the chest area, blurred vision, headaches, numbness in my fingers, feeling like I'm dazzed in my own little world, depression, lifeless all in one week

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
The side effects of metformin are anorexia, chest discomfort , flushing , palpitation. chills , lightheadedness .
As all these symptoms , you are having but in my opinion all these symptoms , which you mentioned in your query may not be due to metformine alone .
So consult your treating doctor and get his opinion regarding these symptoms.
As high blood pressure may be the reason of these symptoms .
Diabetic cardiopathy may be the next reason.
As all these symptoms are concerning , so visit a cardiologist and get in EKG and ECHO to sort this problem.
