On Zyrtec Once A Day. Headache, Stuffy Nose With Lots Of Phelgm. Can Zyrtec Be Taken Twice?

hi dr, i am a 63 year old female. take zyrtec once a day for several years now. i live in maon ga and was 1st prescribed this by my dr. im now headachy stuffy nose and lots of phelm. can i take a zyrtec in the morning and one in the evening til im better. i have difficulty lying down because of post nasal drip. thank you . msw

Dear patient,

Yes indeed Zyrtec can be taken twice a day, but one of the issues that you should explore with your physician is perhaps the addition of a daily nasal steroid spray, which has been proven to be the best therapy for postnasal drip.
