Overdue For Periods, Slight Cramping, , Pregnancy Test Negative. What To Do ?

I am currently 12 days overdue for my period. I am not regular, but have never had a cycle lasting longer than 44 days. It is now the 49th day in my cycle. I use an app on my phone to track my periods and it estimates my next one based on what I put in it, and that is what I am using to base this information on. I am not trying to get pregnant so I haven't been tracking my ovulation schedules. I have had some slight cramping, it feels almost like what my periods usually start out as, but has not become painful, as is usual. This has been happening for about two weeks. I took a home pregnancy test 3 days ago, at 9 days overdue, and it came out negative. Other than the cramping, I am not having any early symptoms of pregnancy.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Pregnancy tests detect the level of HCG hormone which is released in pregnancy.
It should be detectable by home pregnancy tests by day 11 to 14 after conception.
It can be found slightly earlier by blood tests.

YOu can consider repeating the test in a few days to ensure that it is truly negative.

If this second test is negative then your doctor may consider other causes of delayed period.
These include: inadequate diet, high levels of a hormone called prolactin, extreme physical activity, emotional or physical stress, abnormal levels of thyroid hormone, polycystic ovarian syndrome.

To determine if any of these are present you would to be assessed by your doctor.

I hope this helps
