Pain And Discomfort In The Lump Below The Anus. Any Treatment?
I'm not the one with the lump so I will try to give you the best description. The lump was located at the base of his sack, below the anus. When I felt it, it was hard. I asked him the size he thought it was his response, a lot larger than a marble. There is pain more discomfort. He has been feeling it for about a month. I'm not sure if it has grown since, but there is continued discomfort when he sits. Any ideas??
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your friend has developed what is termed as Perianal Abscess which results from the infection of peri anal glands situated around anal opening.
It looks to be in a stage of induration and soon liklely to get transformed in to an abscess . Please ask to him to consult qualified General Surgeon for clinical examination . Please ask him to take broad spectrum antibiotics along with anti inflammatory medication like Diclofenac twice daily for a week. If it does not subside he may need to get it incised and drained under general anaesthesia. Dr.Patil.
