Pain And Numbness In Left Hip. Broken Back T4 20 Years Back. Riding Bike Daily. Treatment?
Recently I've been having pain in my left hip and numbness in the same area.... the pain is in the bone? at the top of the hipbone not the joint itself and the numbness is an area about the size of a salad plate surrounding the focus of the pain. I've had no injury lately but did break my back t4? 20 years ago. I smoke and am not overweight, I ride my bike 1 hour each day. I'm 58.
From the description of your symptoms, I suspect the cause of your pain could be in the HIP JOINT proper or in the LUMBAR SPINE.
An xray of the hip joint will diagnose a problem either in the joint or the bones. If xray doesn't provide any information, MRI scan is mandatory to know the cause.
An MRI scan of L.S.spine will ruleout any issues in the spine
You need a thorough clinical examination and evaluation for diagnosing the possible cause of your pain.
In the meantime, * Avoid activities that exacerbates your pain * Analgesic medications like Motrin or Aleve as needed * Neurotropic vitamins like Vit B12 to alleviate your numbness will help
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
