Hi

There can be a few causes of your pain. One is degenerative disc in the chest pain area. This type of pain is very much seen in a condition called as aortic aneurysm (dissecting). This condition is diagnosed with an ultrasound or a doppler of the aorta. There is another condition called as mitral valve prolapse that can show up as a stabbing chest pain. It can be seen on echocardiography.
