Pain And Redness In The Roof Of The Mouth. Difficulty In Drinking And Eating. Not Responding To Avelox And Prednisone

I have something similiar to a sore throat , but the pain is in the roof of my mouth, in the back. When I drink coffee it almost kills me when the hot liquid reaches that area. This started on Friday. I went to the doctor on yesterday. I did not have strep throat , but he did see redness back there and was puzzled. He gave me avelox to take for five days, prednisone . It is still as sore as it was before.

Dear Concerned.,
Thanks for writing to us.
Your doctor has suspected bacterial infection in the posterior part of Pharynx and has given you a short acting Steroid(predinisolone) and antibiotic/Fluoroquinolone(Moxyfloxacin).
In your country do they have Proteolytic Enzymes such as Serratio peptidase/Chymotrypsin Tablets.If available kindly have it twicee a day before meals as they help in penetration of Antibiotics and Anti inflammatory medicines to exact site of action required.
Kindly also try an Antisceptic Mouth Gargling such as Betadine Mouth Gargling or its equivalent and Local Application of "Mandel's Paint".In addition you may also use Vit C daily Per Oral tab 500mg.
If with these measures it is not subsiding ,Pls consult an ENT Surgeon /undergo routine Blood/Urine Investigations/Throat Swab Culture and institute an evidence based treatment protocol.
