Pain And Swelling In The Knee After An Injury. Need Treatment?

Hi, saturday I was playing football with pads on and went in for a tackle when I hit my knee on the ground. My knee felt alittle sore but nothing big so I continued to play. Later on in the day it gradually became more painful to walk. The pain is easing up and now feels tight with and still alittle difficulty walking down stairs. Swelling still persist but has gone down alittle bit it's now Monday.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
After an injury, the persistent pain in the knee could be due to an injury to the internal structures of the knee. This needs an MRI scan of the knee to know the extent of damage that you have suffered.
