Pain Below Ankle After Long Walks, Lately Foot And Lower Leg Seems To Be Cold. Cause?

i get a pain from about 2 inch below my ankle and about 6 inch up the front of my leg. this only happens when i go walking. usually comes on after about 1/2 - 1 mile and then eases. Recently it got so severe after a mile I had to stop. I have now noticed that my foot and lower leg seems to feel colder than the other leg but not to touch

Hi, many thanks for the query!
This is the classical history of "Peripheral Vascular Disease", if you are smoking or chewing tobacco further confirms the diagnosis.
Check with your doctor- "ankle brachial pressure index", if abnormal (more likely to be abnormal in your case) then
Do "colour doppler of both arterial & venous system" of the affected (cold) limb.
Check your blood pressure, blood sugar level, blood lipid profile.
Treatment includes- First stop smoking/taking tobacco in any form.
Management of Diabetes, Hypertension & Hypercholesterolemia if you are having it, anti-platelet drugs with your doctor's opinion.
Do regular exercise.
