Pain Between Left Shoulder And Elbow, Weak Left Hands, Numbness. Have Mechanical Valve In Heart. Is This Nerve Or Muscle Related Pain?

I have a pain between my left shoulder and left elbow which is infrequent and comes on sharply when I hold my arm in a particular awkward position. I feel my left hand is weaker than my right and a slight numbness. I have had it for several weeks. I have a mechanical valve in my heart and the pain seems to be nerve or muscle related.
Most activities are okay.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain that you have is likely to be a nerve related pain. This is suggestive of a nerve root compression at the level of cervical spine. An MRI scan will help in confirmation.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
