Pain Down Neck Can Be Due To Lymph Node Or Due To Bee Stung?

Dad was stung by a bee a couple days ago on his head. Tonight the left side of his face, neck, and even left ear lobe is a bit swollen and he has pain running down from the sting down to the neck. Probably unrelated right? Is it something with his lymph nodes?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Insect bites are commonly associated with pain, swelling and altered sensation (tingling sensation).
The swelling that your father is experiencing can be due to the bee sting.
The cause of these symptoms is release of histamine.
Anti-histaminics are usually prescribed to alleviate these symptoms.
A lymph node enlargement causes a discrete enlargement.
It may or may not be associated with pain.
The pain if present is localized and not diffuse as your father is experiencing.
You can consult your physician for clinical examination of the site.

Thanks and take care
