Pain In Groin, Pain When Sitting Or Lying, Pain When Lifting Leg. What Could It Be?

For the past 4 days. i have had a sharp pain on the anterior portion of my groin/hip. I have throbbing pain when sitting and lying. And very sharp pain if I try to lift my left leg. I can barely life my left into the car or even into bed. Do you have any insight on what it could be. Also I have been taking 2 ibuprofen 200mg. It does not help the pain.

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such symptoms can be caused by inguinal hernia, urinary tract infection or nerve compression due to spinal disc herniation or any other spine disease.
If your pain aggravates when coughing or pushing on stool and there is some lump in the groin (usually appears while standing), it is hernia.
If you suffer also from frequent urination, burning while urinating most probable is uti.
If you feel pain radiating to the leg, most probable is nerve compression.
You should have groin and abdominal ultrasound, full blood work and urine analysis. If you suspect your spine, MRI should be performed.
