Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Cheema, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
You haven't mentioned your age and gender? May be you have arthritis. Kindly get yourself examined by a Orthopedist. Since you said that you get pain when sitting cross legged, it could also happen if the ligaments in the knee are stretched. Avoid sitting cross legged and apply heat pads regularly. Give yourself some rest.
Hi;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
First thing i would like to know is your age and whether you are a male or female.The reason is if you are a female & above 40-45 years the pain will be due to Osteoarthritis as it is seen commonly in menopausal females & is not so common in males.If you are a male then there is a chance that you may be suffering from arthritis or gout.In either case it is advisable to get a X-ray & routine blood investigation to find out the cause & then consult a doctor to proceed with treatment.Till then to reduce pain you can take a painkiller & can start with a calcium supplement ;it will help reduce pain.
Take care.
Thanks
