Pain In Left Arm And Shoulder, Nausea. What Could Be This?

My left arm and shoulder started hurting last night and is still hurting this morning. I had nausea last night but it was right after I ate so I didn't think much about it. I've heard heart attacks are different signs in women that chest pains. Should I be concerned? If this was a heart attack, wouldn't it be hurting in my chest by now? I'm wondering if I pulled a muscle yesterday.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Pain started after dinner late in night and nausea was just after meal.
Co-relation is there between these two symptoms as nausea was due to food which you ate ( may be over feeding, fried food ,spiced ,junk food).
Pain in the left shoulder and arm are once again related to each other.
There is a membrane between thorax and abdomen known as diaphragm.
When we ate ( over feeding, full of stomach) , due to over eating there is abdominal distension i.e. stomach distension.
Distended stomach irritate diaphragm ( just above to stomach).
The nerve supply of diaphragm and shoulder joint is one and same PHRENIC nerve ,hence pain if, in phrenic nerve than pain will also be in shoulder joint , that was in your case.
It was not a heart attack case ,rather simple gastritis or hyper acidity.
Have a good life.
