Pain In Left Shoulder, Arm Feeling Numb And Heavy. Finished Therapy For Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Suggestions?

I am having pain in my left shoulder from the back to my armpit down my arm my arm feels heavy and there is numbness while lying down the pain is also in front above and to the left of my left breast I just finished radioactive iodine therapy for papillary thyroid cancer I was trying to avoid going to the hospital but its not going away

Hi,

After getting radiotherapy, there is much necrosis of tissue not only of the thyroid but anywhere in the body. It is possible that the nerves supplying your left shoulder have been affected. That is one possibility. The second possibility is that you are having muscle strain. This can be due to sleeping on you left shoulder. What you can do is to try and ice the area till it is partly numb. If this causes the pain to go away, that is good. I hope this works for you. I wish you the best.
