Pain In Leg Behind Knee Cap, Knee Retaining Fluid, Difficulty In Sitting. Meet Doctor?

I am a 43 year old woman and was at work today. I don t think I did anything out of the normal to my knee, but my leg on the back side of my leg behind my knee cap is really hurting. It hurts very badly to walk, my knee is retaining fluid and it hurts to sit at my desk and do my job. Should I see a doctor? What could be wrong.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain in the knee cap with a retained fluid in the joint is suggestive of an inflammation in the area. You need to consult an orthopedician for the drainage of the fluid and further management.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
