Pain In My Back Tongue And Swollen Gland. Difficult To Eat. How To Overcome This Problem?

I was having sharp pains at the back right side of my tounge last night, randomly touched my neck under my jaw and noticed the gland is noticeably swollen. You can look at it and see it is swollen. Today I haven't noticed the sharp pain as bad (although still there) but eating has become somewhat difficult, can't really explain why but that the lump causes me to eat slower? It is the weekend and dr offices aren't open, is this something I need to go to the ER for? Any response quickly is greatly appreciated. I have read that a warm washcloth can help, is there truth to this for relief?

Hi,
from history it seems that you might be having Pharyngitis giving rise to this problem.
Do antiseptic or salt water gargles.
Take pain reliever tablet like tylenol or advil for temporary relief.
Afterwards consult your doctor as you may require one antibiotic medicine course.
Avoid cold drinks and junk food.
Ok and take care.
