What Causes Swollen Throat And Dots On The Back Of Tongue?
Last week I felt a burning sensation that I thought was. A nerve, across my left, top part of my back from my shoulder to my necke, the pain has worsened, but Tylenol helps alleviate the pain. Now my throat gland is swollen( for a few days), and today I see dots on the back of my tongue. It hurts enough for me to take tylenol
Understanding your concern. as per your query you have symptoms of swollen throat and dots at back of tongue which is mainly due to enlargement and infection of tonsils. Your symptoms pointing towards a condition known Granular Pharyngitis along with enlargement of lymphoid tissues. These take time to regress completely.
I would advise you to visit ENT specialist and get a course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines along with an antihistamine. Nasal decongestant drops followed by plain water steam inhalations will help to abate the problems which increase at night.
Avoid spicy food. Do warm saline gargles. If you want to avoid the recurrence, it is advisable to continue the courses for around 2 weeks till all the signs and symptoms are completely resolved.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
